PENRYN

The history of Penryn dates back to 1864 when and immigrant by the name of Griffith established a granite quarry on an area of land leased to him from the Central Pacific Railroad. At this time, there was little more than a company store and the nearby homes in which the employees lived. In 1869 the town expanded to include a railroad depot, saloon, general store and the question of the towns name had finally been settled.

DELICIOUS MANDARINS

Today, the history of Penryn is preserved at Griffiths Quarry Park and Museum and the historic craftsman style homes off of English Colony way near Rippey Road. The community of Penryn is full of ranches, small businesses, orchards, country charm and ultra luxurious sprawling estates. This area is known for its mandarin orchards, and you will definitely want to pick up a bag of them and some honey when you are in town.

COMFORTABLE CLIMATE

The summers here are quite warm and the evenings are perfect for taking a stroll and catching the sunset. The colder months are mild and you will not need to worry about snow as Penryn is at 627 feet in elevation. Penryn is a country town with convenient access to Interstate 80 and is located about 14 miles Southeast from Auburn and about 30 miles from Sacramento.

QUIET YET NEVER DULL

Residents here are able to enjoy all of the wonderful benefits of country living with all of the suburban conveniences due to Penryn's close proximity to grocery stores and larger communities like Roseville which offer endless shopping, dining and entertainment options. A few of my favorite places in Penryn are the Valencia Club off of Taylor Road for its nightlife and games and I am a fan of the seasoned fries at the Krispy Krunchy Chicken located at the 76 station just off of the interstate.
