This community has preserved its small-town charm while championing its local high school (Del Oro High School) in every way from community parades and events to the Del Oro Car Wash. The homecoming parade shuts down the main street to allow the community to turn out onto the sidewalks and streets to watch the floats, classic cars, marching bands and horses parade their school spirit.
The history of Loomis is visible all along Taylor Road in the form of fruit crate murals beautifully painted on the sides of the historic downtown buildings. The Loomis Fruit Growers Association has contributed to the history of Loomis which is known for its fruit sheds such as High Hands Fruit Sheds (now High Hands Nursery) and the Blue Goose Fruit Shed (now a community event center).
Loomis is situated along Interstate 80 a little over twenty miles from Sacramento and is surrounded by Rocklin, Granite Bay, Penryn and Lincoln. On your way up in elevation Loomis is where the busy suburbs drop away and you transition to quiet countryside living with large sprawling ranches, estates and properties. You will find well-appointed single family home communities closer to downtown Loomis and these neighborhoods are a mix of new homes and established neighborhoods

As you travel a little further from the downtown area, your home selection expands to include luxurious custom homes on large lots or acreage and traditional ranches as well as modern sprawling homes on agricultural acreage. Some of my favorite things about Loomis are the friendly people, the milkshakes at Taylors restaurant and the short drive to shopping, entertainment and all of the nearby recreation opportunities.
