Roseville-Rosevile is the most poplulated city in Placer County with over 146,000 residents. This sprawling community is conveniently located along Interstate 80 and Highway 65 runs through the city. Roseville is surrounded by Rocklin, Lincoln, Granite Bay, Orangevale, Citrus Heights, Antelope, Elverta and Nicolaus and is about 17 miles from Sacramento and about 23 miles to the Sacramento International Airport. Roseville is home to the largest rail yard in the Western United States and is a destination location for employment, entertainment, shopping, housing and more. Roseville started out as little more than a stagecoach stop until 1864 when the Central Pacific Railroad expanded to meet the California Central Railroad in an area known as "Junction" which would later become Roseville.

During the railroad expansion, Roseville was experiencing a period of expansion and prosperity with plenty of room for growth. The railroads roundhouse was moved to Roseville as the railyard expanded to the largest on the West Coast and at one time Roseville was home to the largest ice manufacturing facilities in the world as well as a hub for produce transportation along the Pacific Fruit Express. The Pacific Fruit Express was a route traveled by those bringing their fruits and produce into town from the orchards for distribution and further transportation along the railway. This road is now referred to as PFE and runs along the edge of Roseville bordering Antelope. Another piece of Rosevilles history is Denios Farmers Market and Auction located right next to the Roseville Rail Yard. Denios was established in 1947 originally as a fruit stand but due to its prime location, vendors rented space from Jim and Merilee Denio and the operation expanded. Today Denios is a very popluar swap meet, auction and one of the largest farmers markets around. As time went on, automotive transportation replaced the railway transportation demand and Roseville expanded further to the East along Interstate 80.

SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE
Roseville is in one of the best locations in California being so close to the state capitol and only a couple hours from eaither Lake Tahoe or the Pacific coast and with the mild weather and plentiful options for employment, who wouldnt want to live here? Some of the top employers in Roseville are Kaiser Permamnente, Sutter Roseville Medical Center, Hewlett Packard, and Union Pacific Railroad. The communities in Roseville each offer something unique and there is a home to suit just about any taste here! On the East side of Roseville the Stoneridge neighborhood sits up on the rolling hills with views of the valley, West Park and Fiddyment Farms on the West side of Roseville offer gorgoeous sunsets, large oak trees, housing variety and feel a bit more secluded from the rest of the city. Historic Roseville homes are some of my favorite and you will find everthing from ranch style to brick and craftsman and even victorian style homes here. Take a look at the neighborhoods below to find your next home.
